Petition to Stop the Nuclear development in Australia

I SUPPORT the belief that there should be no further expansion of Olympic Dam Uranium Mine or any of Australia's existing uranium mines

I SUPPORT the belief that there should be no new uranium mines opened in Australia

I SUPPORT firm and innovative action to address the climate crisis, but do not believe that the use of nuclear energy is the answer to this crisis.

I SUPPORT a nuclear free future for Australia. No mines. No reactors. No waste.

I SUPPORT full and thorough nuclear weapon disarmarment. We do not want Australian uranium to be made available to the nuclear weapons industry, or to countries that do not comply with stringent controls for the use of uranium,and/or countries who cannot guarantee full integrity on the use of uranium.

I URGE the Australian Government to develop and invest in a progressive renewable energy industry and phase out uranium mining in Australia.

I DEMAND that all current radioactive waste is kept stored under the strictest international safety standards, and that the safety of these waste plants is stringently monitored and maintained. We demand that the nuclear industry is made accountable by devising a plan for nuclear waste management for future generations who will be left to deal with this toxic by-product for thousands of years.
